FOOTBALL – MANAMA and Bahrain Club played to a 1-1 stalemate last night in round 10 of the 2024-25 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League.
Ebrahim Al Khattal put Manama in front in the 36th minute when he scored with a left-footed effort from inside the box following a short pass from Portuguese professional Mickael Almeida, which set him up perfectly for his strike.
After the break, Bahrain Club equalised in the 55th minute when Brazilian Joel Vinicius Silva Dos Anjos scored off a rebound after an initial attempt was saved, but could not be controlled, by Manama goalkeeper Redha Bahram Ghuloom.
With the result, Manama claimed their fourth draw and improved to seven points on the standings, although remained in the bottom three. Bahrain Club went to 12 points following their third standoff.
In last night’s other fixture, Al Najma and Sitra had a goalless draw. Najma went to 17 points to climb into third place while Sitra rose to 15 points in the top half of the table.
Tonight, two more games are on schedule. Al Malkiya play Riffa and Muharraq go up against East Riffa. Both ties are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs.
