The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) in Kuwait has announced the activation of the "My Kuwait Identity" programme for expatriate wives of Kuwaitis whose nationality was revoked under Article 8.
The PACI announced that under the new programme, affected individuals will now be issued a civil ID card with a five-year validity. The cards will be issued from the end of January.
The first activations for the card took place on January 9. According to reports, the cards now display an expiry date of January 9, 2030, with the nationality field left blank and the phrase “Treated as a Kuwaiti” added.
