Nissan dealers Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons (YKA) has unveiled a ‘legendary’ example of one of the nation’s most popular vehicles.
The 2024 ‘Al Ostoura’ special limited edition pays homage to the rich heritage of the Patrol Super Safari and celebrates its ‘profound connection’ to the people of the GCC.
The Al Ostoura, translating to ‘The Legend’ in Arabic, affectionately known as the ‘VTC’, the Patrol Super Safari, based on the fifth-generation Nissan Patrol produced from 1997 to 2010, gained popularity for its formidable all-terrain capabilities and class-leading power among off-road enthusiasts and thrill-seekers.
Revived in 2016 due to persistent customer demand, the model has continued production ever since.
The 2024 Al Ostoura edition represents the culmination of the fifth-generation Patrol’s legacy, featuring exterior and interior design enhancements inspired by the region’s desert landscape.
Special badges on the SUV’s rear pillar and engine bear ‘Al Ostoura since 1951’ in Arabic calligraphy, alongside the iconic silhouette.
Drawing inspiration from the Arabian desert dunes, the Al Ostoura edition showcases a recurring design motif on the spare tyre cover, fender garnish and interior elements such as the centre console badge and floor mats.
The rich colour palette – offering two exterior schemes – is complemented by 17-inch alloy wheels, distinctive body stickers and contrasting exterior inserts on the roof, bumpers and wheel arches.
The 2024 Patrol Super Safari Al Ostoura is powered by a 4.8-litre in-line six-cylinder engine, delivering 280 horsepower and 451 Nm of torque.
Equipped with Valve Timing Control (VTC) and Nissan Induction Control System (NICS), it ensures exceptional off-road performance and an impressive top speed on the motorway.
The power is seamlessly directed through a 5-speed automatic or manual transmission.
In addition to its powerful performance, the Al Ostoura features electronically-controlled power steering, providing effortless control at low speeds and firm handling at high speeds.
Cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, dual-front SRS airbags and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) enhance safety and connectivity for a secure driving experience on and off the road.
- The 2024 Nissan Patrol Super Safari Al Ostoura is now available through Nissan’s partner network across the region, joining the broader model line-up, including the Patrol and the race-inspired Patrol NISMO models.
