The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has announced two new services.
The services, available on the ‘Sehati app, have been introduced in collaboration with the Health Ministry and Government Hospitals.
They are blood donation and athletes’ fitness certificates.
The app is available to download via the eGovernment Apps Store, bahrain.bh/apps.
The new e-services will allow citizens and residents to register with blood donation banks, request for blood donation and view their history of blood donations.
In addition, users will receive notifications of urgent cases that require blood transfusions along with medical instructions.
With regards to the sports industry, athletes will be able to view and download their medical certificates stamped by relevant health authorities to determine their fitness levels for competing in sports activities.
iGA acting chief executive and deputy chief executive of electronic transformation Dr Zakariya AlKhajah said that the new e-services are in line with the iGA’s digital transformation strategy, focusing on mobile applications.
This includes enhancements to all government apps to meet individuals’ needs and improve their user experience.
Government Hospitals chief executive Dr Mariam Al Jalahma highlighted Public Hospitals’ commitment to improving the healthcare experience for citizens and residents.
To avail the new services, download the ‘Sehati’ app, select the relevant option from the main page using the Basic eKey single sign on , then view the required procedures.
The app offers a range of eservices to assist the public saving their time and effort such as ‘Find a Doctor’ in the specialisation they are looking for, Ask a Doctor, a list of medicines, appointment bookings with health centres and Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) pharmacy for home delivery and the ability to view SMC and King Hamad University Hospital appointments.
The app also provides information and a list about pharmacies and health products in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a record of medical results including blood tests and X-rays from SMC and King Hamad University Hospital, and a service allowing users to request or replace birth certificates.
