BIG-HEARTED members of a major retail store in Bahrain, Max, donated 1,500 products towards the victims of the recent earthquakes in Türkiye.
GDN Media has teamed up with Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), the kingdom’s oldest charity, to help survivors in Türkiye and Syria as well as struggling local families through the campaign.
The products will be sent to Türkiye by the Turkish embassy in Bahrain.
“Al Rashid Group is in the business of serving people – may these be our customers who come to shop with us or people who need our assistance,” said Al Rashid Group territory head Sandeep Narain.
“Our organisational philosophy of helping people is not only seen internally but also cascades externally.
“We hope this donation helps as many people who are currently struggling with this humanitarian catastrophe.”
Under the hashtag #HelpThem, we urge supporters to continue backing the initiative with donations of:
l Clothes, shoes and accessories for men, women and children
l Blankets and pillows
l Hygiene kits
l Toys
Donated gifts during Ramadan can be left at our security office at The Press in East Riffa, our commercial office on the Exhibition Avenue and the BRCS headquarters, both located in Hoora.
The February 6 earthquakes were the worst natural disaster to strike modern-day Türkiye and Syria with more than 56,000 people killed in both countries.
Many survivors lost their homes and possessions with the earthquake destroying 230,000 buildings making them uninhabitable according to official figures.
“We are extremely elated and moved with the response that we have received towards this humanitarian cause,” said Turkish Ambassador Esin Çakil.
“We have received great support from everyone living in Bahrain, as an individual or as part of an organisation.
“In this vein, we are very thankful to Al Rashid Group for their donation.”
