Netizens were left baffled and surprised after a second-hand "shopping-basket" bag from Chanel was listed for an astronomical price of $101,268 (approx. BD38,000) on an e-commerce platform.
The 2014 XXL Shopping Basket Bag from Chanel was listed on the high-end shopping platform Farfeth. The bag is silver plated and wrapped in strips of black leather, along with the luxury brand's iconic interlocking "C's" logo.
The bag was showcased during the Autumn Winter 2014 collection. The bag's description states that "for AW14, Chanel created its own supermarket to showcase one of the brand's most memorable runways. Forming part of the said collection is this basket bag, wrapped with the maison's signature leather and chain-link straps".
What's even more surprising is that this isn't even the most expensive second-hand handbag listed on the site. That honour goes to a 2002 Hermes bag listed for $136,101.
But that's nothing compared to the most expensive item on the list. A "pre-loved" Patek Phillipe watch from 2017 is being sold for more than $1.8 million.
