Saudi has announced the launch of its Ramadan 'Eta’am' initiative, with the aim to distribute 156,993 food baskets to more than 900,000 individuals in 19 countries.
The initiative is part of the kingdom's humanitarian projects, represented by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), SPA reported.
A food basket distribution project was just organised in Albania in cooperation with the Albanian Islamic Sheikhdom.
The project has also been launched in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe, where the kingdom aims to distribute 9,625 food baskets, which will benefit 51,400 people in a number of areas.
Other distributions that have already taken place inlude:
- More than 13 tons of Ramadan food baskets handed out in the city of Ferizaj in Kosovo, benefiting 220 families.
- One thousand food baskets distributed in various regions of the capital of Niger, including basic food items sufficient for one family for a month, benefiting 5,000 individuals.
