Oman's Labour Ministry has announced that citizens working in the government sector will now be offered fixed-term contracts as opposed to open-ended permanent jobs.
It also added that the contract can be terminated before its completion by either the employer or employee and that employees can be denied of their annual bonuses if they have performed poorly at work.
The decision comes in line with Royal Decree No 89/2020, Times of Oman reported.
