MANAMA: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has announced the launch of ticket sales for vaccinated and Covid-19-recovered fans wishing to attend the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
The race weekend will take place between March 26 and 28 and tickets are on sale now with a single price of BD100 across stands for the three-day event.
“We are delighted to be able to launch our ticket sales today, once again giving fans the opportunity to witness the spectacle of F1,” said BIC chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa.
“In November and December last year, we had the honour to host our healthcare heroes as spectators, and we are pleased this time it will be open for a broader group of fans.”
Fans should be aware that entry will only be permitted if they are fully vaccinated and two weeks have passed since they have received their second dose. Alternatively, they must have fully recovered from the virus with their recorded date of infection being a minimum of two weeks or a maximum of eight months prior to the race weekend, as outlined under Health Ministry guidelines.
Those attending must have their vaccination or recovery badges available and displayed on the BeAware application.
Lucky F1 fanatics will experience the excitement of being present at the first race of the 2021 season. As well as the track action, the BIC promises ‘entertainment and extensive food and beverage offerings’ within a Covid-19 safe area. However, there will be no concerts for music fans as a result of social distancing guidelines.
Comprehensive measures will be put in place at the circuit to ensure spectators can enjoy the excitement of F1 in a safe environment. In addition to the entry policy, these measures include:
• Vending area entertainment, food, beverage and fan experiences have been carefully selected to allow for social distancing and enhanced sanitation measures.
• Health screening on entry, with mask wearing compulsory at all times.
• All entertainment and fan experiences will be outdoors.
Due to restrictions, there will be no Paddock Club or corporate lounges for the 2021 race weekend.
Shaikh Salman added: “I’m thankful for all the support we receive from across government in Bahrain and the co-ordination that makes Bahrain a successful F1 every year. I especially thank The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus and Ministry of Health in Bahrain for their planning and guidance, which will allow us to offer a safe experience for fans.
“We would urge eligible fans to reserve their tickets now for the best possible seats to witness the first edition of F1 2021.”
