BAHRAIN’S youth national basketball team will leave for Cairo Monday to compete in the Arab Championship.
Other countries in the fray are Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria and hosts Egypt.
The Bahrainis have been training for the competition over the past few weeks under experienced Serbian head coach Vanja Gusa.
Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa visited a recent practice session and wished the players the very best.
The Bahrain delegation will be headed by BBA vice-president Nasser Al Qaseer.
Bahrain squad: Ammar Yousef, Hassan Aziz, Nasser Anzoor, Imran Abdulla, Ali Mahmoud, Ali Al Ajmi, Ammar Jassim, Abdulqader Salah, Khaled Nabeel, Ebrahim Mohammed, Abbas Basri and Mohammed Abdulla.
