Bahrain: Unlicensed sheesha cafés continue to operate across Bahrain because government ministries lack the power to close them permanently, according to a top anti-smoking official.
As many as 74 of the unlicensed cafés are known to be in operation, despite inspectors’ best efforts to shut them down, Health Ministry public health directorate anti-smoking committee vice-president Mariam Janahi told the Southern Municipal Council at its latest weekly meeting .
