Marrakesh – Moroccan beauty queen Nouhaila Lmelki was charged with murder and excessive speeding.
The defendant was arrested last Saturday after running over two homeless children in the city of Marrakesh.
Lmelki, also called “Barbie,” reportedly drunk driving when she ran into the two fifteen-year-old boys with her 4-wheel at the Moulay Abdellah boulevard, which caused their death.
She was remanded in jail since Sunday after police interrogation as the court of the first instance refused to temporarily release her on bail.
The investigation revealed that she lost control of the car and bumped into a tree where two homeless children were sleeping.
The impact led to the tree’s collapse and caused the death of the two children on the spot.
