Popular reality TV show Bigg Boss is back for its ninth season with host Salman Khan. The show promises 'double trouble' in this edition and there are fourteen famous and not so famous celebrities to brace the challenge. Here is a close look at the participants and their thoughts as they entered the Bigg Boss house.

Took up 'Bigg Boss' to reconnect with fans: Rimi Sen

'Dhoom' girl Rimi Sen is venturing into film direction next year and the actress says she is using the 'Bigg Boss Nau' platform to connect with her fans again.

The 34-year-old Bengali beauty, who was last seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Shagird' in 2011, said she has not bid adieu to acting.

"I am venturing into direction next year so I am using 'Bigg Boss' as my base to connect with my fans again. I have been very choosy about my roles, so my fans have seen me in a handful of films in my 12-year Bollywood career," Rimi told PTI before entering the house.

The 'Hungama' actress said that unlike previous female contestants, she won't choose the kitchen as her best place in the house.

"I hardly know how to cook, so I won't be seen in kitchen for sure," she said.

Rimi has not done any preparation to be a part of the house. She promises to be herself and stay away from the controversies.

We want to be the ideal couple of 'Bigg Boss': Suyyash

TV actor Suyyash Rai and actress Kishwer Merchant are one of the real-life partners on 'Bigg Boss Nau' and their constant effort on the show will be to try and remain the perfect couple.

Kishwer and Suyyash, who met during the shoot of TV soap 'Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani', have a huge fan following, thanks to their public display of affection on social media sites. They are often referred by fans as "Sukish".

"It is going to be difficult to be with each other in front of so many cameras all the time. There is no denying that we are too much in love, we have been very open about our relationship. So, even on the show we will be exactly the

way we are in real life. We want to be the ideal couple on 'Bigg Boss'," Suyyash told PTI.

Roopal Tyagi unnerved by ex Ankit Gera's presence in Bigg Boss

Former couple Roopal Tyagi and Ankit Gera are co-contestants on 'Big Boss Nau', but the actress says she is not worried about being on the same show as her former boyfriend.

Roopal, 26, and Ankit starred in TV show 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke' and it was on the soap that love blossomed between the two. But the pair eventually broke up amid cheating rumours.
"I am not worried about who is participating and who is not. I am okay with anyone who enters the house. I am here to play the game and hopefully win. So, I am cool with anyone," Roopal told PTI before entering the Bigg Boss house.
The actress is among 14 contestants participating in the latest season of 'Bigg Boss', which is being hosted by superstar Salman Khan for the sixth time.

Roopal said she was hesitant to be a part of the show, but eventually said yes as she didn't want to lose the opportunity.

"I am excited now. But I was not sure initially. Then I thought if I chicken out now, I would lose the opportunity to experience an exciting adventure. I may not have got another opportunity to do something like this again," she said.

Proximity with Salman won't help me to win 'Bigg Boss': Vikas

Vikas Bhalla is a close friend of Salman Khan but the singer-actor says their proximity will not garner him any brownie points as the superstar is a fair host of 'Bigg Boss'.

Vikas, who is a part of the ninth season of the TV series, hopes his stint on the celebrity reality show turns out to be as popular as his debut song 'Hai dhuan hai dhuan'.

"I don't think my proximity with Salman (Khan) is going to affect the result of 'Bigg Boss'. I am very close to him and I know how fair he is with his dealings.

"In the past too, there have been many contestants who were close to him but I don't think anybody has ever won... It's a very fair show and Salman is a fair host," Vikas told PTI before entering the house.

The 42-year-old "Uttaran star has been doing films and TV intermittently. He also sang "Po Po" featuring Salman, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha from 'Son Of Sardar'.

"I joined showbiz with my 1997 song 'Hai dhuan hai dhuan' and the number made me an overnight star. The Indie-pop song made me travel the whole world and I gained name, fame and popularity after that," he said.

Will not create unnecessary controversy on 'Bigg Boss': Yuvika

Actress Yuvika Chaudhary says she will not rake up unnecessary controversies to get footage in the 'Bigg Boss' house.

Yuvika, who is among the 14 people participating in the ninth season of 'Bigg Boss', said she is a very homely girl and saying yes to the show was very difficult.

"I am a very homely girl. It is a big decision for me to say yes to 'Bigg Boss'. But I think it will be a good experience. It is going to be a challenge. Let us see what happens," Yuvika told PTI before entering the house.

"I will have my voice on the show. I will take part in discussions and if anything goes wrong, I will protest. But I will not create controversies," the actress said.
Yuvika, started her career on the small screen with TV soap 'Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani'.

She has starred in Bollywood films like 'Om Shanti Om', 'Summer 2007' and 'Toh Baat Pakki'.

Bigg Boss' will be my major comeback: Aman Verma

The 43-year-old 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' actor, who was the target of a sting operation, said he is taking up this project as his major comeback on the small screen.

"I feel 'Bigg Boss' is a great opportunity. It will help me in my career in many ways. It is one show on Indian TV which grabs maximum eyeballs and increases the shelf life of an actor. No doubt it sometimes creates controversies too but the show catapults you into a different league. I am using this show as my major comeback," Aman told PTI before entering the house.

The actor has not been offered the reality show for the first time. He was asked to be a part of the Colors show almost every year but his prior commitments prevented him.

"I was shooting at that time and I am not that kind of a person who can leave a show in the middle to choose a lucrative deal. It looks highly unprofessional. This time, I just finished my shooting a month-and-a-half back, so I took up this challenge," he said.

Aman is quite hopeful about the show as he is entering the house on his birthday, which he considers as his lucky number.

"I am obviously going to miss my family today but all these are part of our life. But 11 is my lucky number and I feel the show will create wonders for my career," he said.

His family has only asked him not to lose his temper in adverse situations inside the house, he said.

"I come from a very humble background. My family told me to be myself on the show and control my temper," said Aman, who is not ardent follower of 'Bigg Boss'.

Not looking for film offers through 'Bigg Boss': Mandana

Iranian girl Mandana Karimi, the foreign factor in 'Bigg Boss Nau', says she is not looking for a career push through the reality show.

Karimi, who made her Bollywood debut with 'Bhaag Johnny' this year, said she has her kitty full with interesting projects and her sole motive to be a part of the Salman Khan-hosted show is to connect with the Indian audience.

"I don't want a push to my career. I don't crave for visibility and I am not looking for job offers. I have good films, which include Ekta Kapoor's 'Kya Kool Hain Hum 3'. My only reason to join this show was to connect with my fans," Mandana told PTI.

"People in India love 'Bigg Boss' and I will get an opportunity to show myself to the people," said the actress, whose father is an Indian.

The Tehran-born model-actress said she never had apprehensions about being a part of "Bigg Boss" and is grateful to have been approached for it.

"It is a great show. It is the biggest show. And also it is being hosted by one of the most loved celebrities in India, Salman Khan. I am really grateful."

Prince Narula wants 'reality king' tag

With 'Bigg Boss Nau' being his fourth non-fiction show in a year's time, Prince Narula wants to be known as the "reality king" of Indian television.

The Chandigarh-based model, who gained momentum after showcasing his tough guy image in 'Roadies X2' and 'Splitsvilla 8', said he opted for 'Bigg Boss' because it will give him the maximum limelight.
"I am on 'Bigg Boss' predominantly for Salman (Khan). I am a huge fan of the star. Moreover, it is my fourth reality show in a year's time and I want to be known as the 'reality king' of the television," Prince told PTI.
