BASKETBALL – THE semi-finals of the 2024-25 Khalifa bin Salman Cup get underway tonight with action in game one of both best-of-three series.
At 6pm, Muharraq face off with Samaheej, to be followed at 8.30pm by Manama playing Nuwaidrat.
Both contests are set to be held at the Bahrain Basketball Association Arena in Um Al Hassam.
Following this evening’s series openers, game two of both match-ups will be held on Friday, and then game three, if needed, are scheduled for Tuesday next week.
Muharraq secured their place in the last four after defeating Al Ahli 81-70 in their quarter-final clash. Samaheej, on the other hand, edged past Al Ettihad 68-60.
Manama, meanwhile, posted a resounding 96-82 victory over Al Hala to march through, while Nuwaidrat cruised past Al Najma 100-74.
Manama won the last two editions of the prestigious tournament, which was rebranded to the Khalifa bin Salman Cup in 2017.
Muharraq triumphed in its first year, and then Manama won in 2018. Riffa then claimed the trophy in 2019, before Ahli lifted it in three straight seasons from 2020 to 2022. Manama have since been back-to-back winners.
