RUGBY – BAHRAIN will be looking to clinch an historic title double this evening in a pair of highly competitive regional rugby tournaments.
Bahrain’s First XV will be taking on the Dubai Hurricanes First XV for the coveted title in 2024-25 Men’s West Asia Super Rugby. The game will be played at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai and it is scheduled for a 7pm kick-off, Bahrain time.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Second XV will also be taking to the pitch at The Sevens Stadium. They will be gunning for the crown in 2024-25 Men’s UAE Division One Rugby. They will play their final against the Dubai Tigers First XV, kicking off at 5pm, Bahrain time.
“Tomorrow is a huge day for the club,” Bahrain Rugby Football Club director of rugby Adam Wallace told the GDN last night. “It’s not often that you get an opportunity to have two teams in finals on the same day, at the same venue.
“It’s the first season for our second team in the UAE leagues, and a massive opportunity for us to cement our position as the number one club in the Gulf.
“We have strong travelling support and that will make a big difference for the boys involved in the games. I’m delighted to see how many people have got behind the teams this year and shown their support. And to see the amount of people traveling just signifies how much this club means to everyone.
“I would be lying if I said the goal isn’t to go down to Dubai and win two trophies tomorrow, but the reality is whatever happens on the day, I will be immensely proud of what we have achieved this season, and how far both teams have come.”
Bahrain’s First XV will be looking to complete a perfect campaign, having finished the preliminary round of Men’s West Asia Super Rugby with an unbeaten record in 12 games and then winning their semi-final against the Abu Dhabi Harlequins First XV.

They are to be guided by backs coach Ross Preedy along with scrum and defence coach Jack Parry.
