HANDBALL – AL Ahli outclassed Tubli 34-21 last night in both teams’ opening contest in the Top Eight round of the 2024-25 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
The match was played at the Bahrain Handball Federation Arena in Um Al Hassam, and it was in Group A of this stage.
Ahli held a slim 16-13 lead at the half but then stepped it up over the final 30 minutes to come away with the 13-goal victory.
Bahrain international Ali Eid finished as the victors’ leading scorer with seven goals.
Ahli and Tubli are in the same pool as Barbar and Al Tadhamun. Group B features defending league champions Al Shabab, Al Najma, Al Dair, and Al Ittifaq.
Tonight, another two Top Eight games are scheduled. At 8.45pm, Shabab take on Ittifaq, to be followed at 10.30pm by Najma locking horns with Dair.
The Top Eight continues until Tuesday next week.
