Kuwaiti courts overturned a verdict obligating a woman to pay her husband KD20,000 (BD 24,468) after she received his monthly salary.
The man filed a lawsuit against the bank and his wife, claiming that she did not have legal authorisation or the right to collect the money.
The husband claimed that she took the money with the bank's help, based on an authorisation in her capacity as his agent under an official power of attorney.
However, the court did not support him after his wife's defence team argued that his reasoning was baseless and full of errors. They said that he had granted her absolute power of attorney.
