MOTORSPORT – Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport, operating the car of Verstappen.com Racing, wrapped up their final preparations for the 2025 season of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup yesterday.
2 Seas, co-owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, are supporting Verstappen.com Racing in their entry into the highly competitive series.
The team hit the track at Circuit Paul Ricard in France on Monday and yesterday for the campaign’s official prologue, testing over four sessions – two on each day.
Drivers Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham, and Harry King shared the duties behind the wheel of their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo. Verstappen.com Racing ranked sixth on the timesheet in Monday’s first session with a best lap time of one minute 56.228 seconds – 1.042 seconds behind the leading pace. In the day’s second test, the team were third-best with a fastest time of 2:00.363, which was 0.989s from the top.
Then, yesterday morning, Verstappen.com Racing were 25th on the times with a quickest lap of 1:55.315. They were 1.658s off the pace. They followed it up by going 11th in yesterday’s second session, posting a top mark of 1:54.393 – 0.792s from first place.
More than 50 cars participated in each of the four outings.
The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup is now set for the season’s opening round, to be held from April 11 to 13 at the same track.
2 Seas are making their second straight campaign in the series. Their debut last year added to their participation in British GT, expanding their racing schedule for 2024.
This season, there are five rounds in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Following the curtain-raiser, round two will take place in Monza, Italy, from May 30 to June 1, followed by the marquee Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium from June 25 to 29.
The penultimate endurance meeting will then take place August 29 to 31 at the Nurburgring in Germany, and then the championship finale will be from October 10 to 12 in Barcelona.
