A group of masked men raided a jewellery shop in Bihar, India, on Monday morning, held customers and staff at gunpoint and stole jewellery worth ₹25 crore (BD1 million) and cash.
CCTV footage shows the robbers ordering people to raise their hands as they filled bags with jewellery.
According to the showroom manager, Kumar Mrityunjay, the thieves took gold chains and bangles, as well as some diamonds.
Security guard Manoj Kumar described how the criminals arrived in a car, overpowered him with a gun and created chaos while staff hid behind counters.
Following the robbery, all heads of police stations were instructed to inspect vehicles.
Six suspicious individuals on motorcycles were identified and chased. The pursuit resulted in a shootout where two of the suspects sustained injuries.
The police seized stolen jewellery, firearms, and one motorcycle.
The showroom manager criticised the police for their tardy response during the incident. He claimed that their calls for help were ignored and two employees were hurt during the robbery bid.
