HANDBALL – The stage is set for the Top Eight stage in the 2024-25 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
Preliminary round leaders Al Ahli and defending champions Al Shabab spearhead the two pools in this phase.
Ahli are in group one along with Al Tadhamun, Barbar, and Tubli, while Shabab are in group two with Al Najma, Al Dair, and Al Ittifaq.
They finished as the highest-ranked eight clubs amongst the 11 teams in the league. Missing out on berths in this stage were Al Ettihad, Samaheej, and Bahrain Club.
Dair were 32-30 winners over Shabab in the concluding fixture of the preliminaries, played late Saturday night. Dair claimed their sixth win in 10 games, earning them their spot in the ensuing stage from sixth place with 22 points.
In the Top Eight, the teams will play a single round-robin in their respective groups, and then the top two from each move on to the semi-finals. Matches in the Top Eight are scheduled to begin tomorrow, the Bahrain Handball Federation announced last night.
