VOLLEYBALL – TWO-time defending champions Dar Kulaib battled to a tough five-set victory over a spirited Nabih Saleh last night in the 2024-25 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
The see-saw affair was played at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Dar Kulaib drew first blood in the contest but Nabih Saleh levelled the match in a tight second set. The victors regained the advantage in the third but Nabih Saleh did not go down without a fight and sent the match into the tie-break.
There, Nabih Saleh led early but Dar Kulaib came alive right on time to come away with the 3-2 (25-23, 24-26, 25-20, 17-25, 15-13) win.
Dar Kulaib relied on their balanced attack from top players Fadhal Abbas, Mahmoud Abdulwahed, Hasan Warqaa, Yousef Khalid, Ali Habib, and Croatian opposite Tomislav Mitrasinovic.
Nabih Saleh, on the other hand, were led by Mohammed Jassim, Emad Salman, Ali Marhoon, and Hussain Khalifa.
Dar Kulaib claimed their second victory in four outings with the result, while handing Nabih Saleh their third loss to go with one win.
