Two people were arrested in Beni Suef, Egypt, after being caught in possession of authentic ancient artefacts with the intent to sell.
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed that the culprits were caught in possession of many ancient Egyptian artefacts, including wooden masks and statues, coffins, and a full mummy from the late period of ancient Egypt (664 - 332 BC).
The culprits admitted to digging up the artefacts themselves; however, they did not admit their intent to sell them.
