The Kuwait Civil Service Commission has announced that Thursday, January 30, will be a holiday for all public departments, agencies and institutions, to mark the anniversary of the Muslim occasion of Isra and Mi’raj (Prophet's Ascension).
This year, according to the Cabinet’s decision, the holiday has been moved to Thursday instead of the actual anniversary date of Monday, Jan 27. This is because according to the decision, if the Prophet’s birthday falls between two working days, the holiday will be deferred to the following Thursday each year.
Work will resume on Sunday, February 2.
