Researchers at Cornell University, New York, have created a VR headset for mice to study how animals behave in virtual reality.
Dubbed 'MouseGoggles', this device has been made with low-cost materials such as smartwatch displays and tiny lenses.
The plan is to simulate different objects approaching the mice in different spaces.
According to Cornell, the most effective test would be to trick the mice into believing that an expanding dark blotch was approaching them.
Scientists hope the tiny headsets could help reveal how brains deal with spacial navigation and memory, which could help them understand diseases like Alzheimer's and come up with potential remedies.
