SHOWJUMPING – The Military Sports Federation’s field in Al Rafah will witness some exciting contests today in the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) Showjumping Championship, the fifth event of the showjumping season.
The championship is expected to witness strong competition and wide participation of both male and female riders from various local stables, especially after the tough contests witnessed during the National Day Showjumping Championship.
The first competition of the day, starting at 7.30am, is open to all riders. It consists of hurdles 70/80 centimetres high and a course speed of 350 metres per minute. This will be followed by the second competition, for the junior category, with hurdles 90/100cm high and a course speed of 350m/min.
The third competition, for the junior category, level two (two-stage competition), will have P1-100/P2-110 cm hurdles and a course speed of 350m/min. The fourth competition, for the beginners’ category, level one (two-stage competition), is with hurdles P1-100/P2-110cm and a course speed of 350m/min.
The fifth contest, for advanced level two (speed against time), has hurdles 120cm high and a course speed of 350m/min. The height of the hurdle for the sixth competition is 130cm and the speed of the course is 350m/min, while the seventh competition, for advanced category, will have hurdles R2- 145/140- R1cm, and a speed of 350m/min.
