EQUESTRIAN – The National Day Horse Beauty Championship, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), will take place today and tomorrow at the Military Sports Union.
Breef president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa expressed his appreciation for hosting this competition in celebration of the kingdom’s National Day, the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne, and the accompanying national events.
Shaikh Isa underscored that Breef, through its Horse Beauty Committee, is committed to ensuring the championship is organised to the highest standards.
Shaikh Isa expressed optimism for the event’s success, building on the achievements of the organising committee during the previous season and wished participating stables and owners success.
Shaikh Isa approved the formation of the championship’s organising committee, chaired by Abdullah Al Mudhahka, with Sara Taheri as vice-chairperson.
Shaikh Isa approved the judging and disciplinary committees. The judging committee includes Ali Ghanem Al Mazrouei (UAE), Ali Shaarawi (Egypt), Alicja Bojasielska (Poland), Hussain Abdullah Hussain (Bahrain), Moussa Al Mansour (Kuwait), Paula Boomer (Netherlands), Saif Mohammed Al Hajri (Qatar), and Sultan Saif Al Mansouri (UAE).
The disciplinary committee is chaired by Dr Islam El Mahdi (Egypt), with members Dr Nora Fawzi (Egypt), Dr Mohamed Salah, Masoud Shujaei, Dr Mohamed Naji, and Anwar Hameed Al Marzouq.
The arena will be managed by Hameed Marzooq, assisted by Jassim Mubarak Bu Saleh and Ali Jameel.
Al Mudhahka noted the readiness of all committees for the championship, adding that the event marks the start of this season’s horse beauty competitions. It will feature two categories: the National Championship and the Egyptian Heritage Horse Championship.
He added that the competition will cover various categories, including colts, fillies, mares, and stallions, with 152 horses participating from a wide range of stables and owners.
