Kuwait's Gulf Bank has filed cases against at least 10 defaulters in Kerala after an alleged fraud by Indian nurses.
The bank claims that 1,425 individuals took out loans before going on leave and did not repay them before migrating to Europe or Canada. The individuals initially took small loans before obtaining larger amounts.
The bank alleges that most of the individuals hailed from Kerala and worked as nurses in government hospitals in Kuwait.
Kerala police are currently investigating the matter on a case-by-case basis.
