BILLIARDS – Nahla Al Sunni bagged Bahrain’s third gold medal as the kingdom emerged as the winners of the Arab Billiards and Snooker Championship which concluded yesterday in Amman, Jordan.
National team member Al Sunni triumphed in the 10-ball billiards competition on the final day of the championship, defeating Saudi Arabia’s Lara Al Zanan 5-2 in an exciting contest.
It was Al Sunni’s second gold medal of the event, after having triumphed in the nine-ball competition earlier. The other gold medal for Bahrain was won by Habib Sabah in snooker.
Bahrain bagged eight medals in the championship – three gold, one silver and four bronze – to finish on top.
