Y K Almoayyed & Sons (YKA) has announced a collaboration with Zeekr, the global electric mobility technology brand under the Geely Holding Group.
As part of this partnership, YKA’s subsidiary company, Asia Motors, has been appointed as the authorised distributor of Zeekr in Bahrain.
This strategic move represents a significant milestone in YKA’s commitment to leading the way in sustainable transportation solutions and shaping the future of electric mobility in the region.
Zeekr is renowned for its premium electric vehicles (EV) that meld striking aesthetics, cutting-edge technology, and outstanding performance.
The brand ushers in a new era of automotive innovation, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and ecological awareness.
Zeekr was established in 2021 and specialises in electric mobility based on its ground-breaking Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA).
In collaboration with tech pioneers like Mobileye and Waymo, the brand achieved a valuation of $13 billion as of February 2023. Its cutting-edge electric vehicles are outfitted with CATL’s long-range Qilin batteries, providing a range of more than 1,032km on a single charge.
In Bahrain, Zeekr will offer models including the Zeekr 001 shooting-brake and the Zeekr X sport-utility vehicle. Both models are being adapted for local conditions, featuring an array of features such as the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), local navigation, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI).
Given the high-temperature conditions, both models have been calibrated and tested in Saudi Arabia, with a focus on heat management and high-pressure systems to ensure the reliability of the air conditioning system. This demonstrates the brand’s ability to meet regulatory standards and perform consistently under demanding conditions.
