US-based Epicor Software Corp said Saudi Mechanical Industries (SMI), a leading manufacturer of fluid flow and control equipment, has implemented its next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to support its rapidly expanding business.
The Epicor ERP solution which serves as the backbone of SMI’s core business, has allowed the company to streamline processes and increase efficiency and productivity across all functional areas including manufacturing, sales and finance, said a statement from Epicor.
This has not only translated into significant reduction in cost and increased profitability but has also allowed SMI to offer its customers a much higher level of customer service, it said.
Audeh Awartani, management information systems and process improvement manager for SMI, said: “Over the past few years, we have added a number of factories across the world and to support this growth, it was clear that we needed a more sophisticated and dynamic ERP solution that would allow us to consolidate, streamline and integrate processes across all sites.”
“Epicor iScala ERP had been a vital part of our manufacturing operations for over 10 years and given our satisfaction with the solution and our experience with Epicor, we decided to continue our partnership,” he added.
Following the implementation of Epicor ERP in September 2015, SMI experienced an overall reduction in its operational cost while maintaining the same high standards across all functions, said a statement.
The company increased productivity and improved its customer relations by using real-time data to reduce the time between when a customer places an order and when the order is shipped, it said.
The system effectively integrated SMI with its business partners, locally and internationally, improving transparency and supplier performance.
Awartani added: “Epicor has been one of our key partners and allies over the past 10 years as we have continued to grow and expand our operations.”
“The deployment of Epicor ERP has allowed us to realise significant operational efficiencies, improve visibility and collaboration and has enabled the management team to focus on driving innovation and business growth rather than worrying about day-to-day business processes,” he said.
Hesham El Komy, senior director, channels at Epicor International, said: “SMI is a prime example of how our technologies can be a definitive part of a company’s long term business roadmap.”
“Our solutions scale in line with customer requirements and we are constantly adding new features and capabilities to meet the needs of highly specific industry sectors such as manufacturing,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
