The three-day Nasser Bin Hamad Endurance Championship will begin tomorrow at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) will patronise the competition.
The championship includes a 40km qualifying race, and three other races covering 80, 100 and 120km.
Shaikh Nasser also directed to hold the “Al Anjal” race for budding riders as part of efforts to promote endurance sports.
He also gave directives to double financial prizes for participants who will take part in the races.
The top three winners of the 120km race for the public and families will be presented with cars, while participants ranked four to 10 will have their cash prizes doubled.
Riders ranked 11 to 50 in the same race will also be given cash prizes.
Jockeys, referees, members of the media, medical and administrative committees, and employees in charge of stables underwent Covid-19 tests.
