Riyadh: The official spokesman of the border guards Colonel Saher bin Mohammed Al-Harbi stated that on Monday Laith sector border guards in Makkah region managed to foil an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of hashish.
Naval patrol boats suspected a boat after it tried to get close to the beach. After surrounding it, five bags were thrown in the sea by the boat's occupants.
The boast's crew of three Yemeni people were arrested. The five bags were found to have 206 kilograms of hashish.
Five people, three Saudis, two Sudanese, were also arrested on the beach as they were waiting for the boat to receive the contraband.
The arrested and seized hashish were referred to competent authorities to complete the legal procedures.
