Bahrain: A petition calling for a Family Law for Bahrain’s Shi’ite community was submitted to a United Nation’s (UN) office yesterday, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Spearheaded by the Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society (BHRWS), the petition was submitted to the Geneva headquarters of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) .
