Manama: Last month was the deadliest August for Bahrain’s sickle cell patients in three years, it has emerged.
In total, nine sickle cell sufferers succumbed to complications related to the disease throughout July and August, according to figures provided by the Bahrain Sickle Cell Anaemia Patient Care Society – with seven of those deaths in August alone .
