The Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Jeddah Islamic Port has announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle 40 kilograms of cocaine into the Kingdom.
The illicit drugs were found concealed within a shipment of medicines during customs procedures and inspection. ZATCA used advanced security technologies and live inspection equipment to uncover the hidden cocaine.
The authority, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, reiterated its commitment to strict customs controls over imports and exports to safeguard society from such threats.
