JIU-JITSU – BAHRAIN-based European champion Pedro Bisi de Jesus headlined the list of winners in the Reza’s Martial Arts Centre (RMAC) X SPARTAN Ramadan Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025.
De Jesus claimed the gold medal in the male adults’ blue belt over-85kg division. Representing RMAC, the Brazilian youngster was joined on the podium by Elements JJ competitors Thamer Alhathal and Nayef Fekri, who took silver and bronze, respectively.
Over 40 athletes of a dozen nationalities took part in the competition, which featured 13 divisions for both men and women.
In the male adults’ brown belt over-85kg category, Bahraini Mahmood Al Najjar of Elements JJ took gold ahead of French silver-medallist Philippe Lucret of ZFTeam.
Bahraini Mohammed Swar won the gold medal in the male adults’ purple belt under-69kg class with Brazilian Rodrigo Lira taking silver for an RMAC one-two.
Bahraini Abdulla Qahtan of RMAC clinched the male adults’ blue belt under-69kg gold, with Kuwaiti Abdulrahman Alshareef of Machine BJJ taking silver and Bahraini Hamad Mohseni of RMAC winning bronze.
ZFTeam’s Ayub Lucret from France bagged gold in the male adults’ white belt over-85kg division. RMAC’s Bahraini fighter Rashed Mubarak was the runner-up while Saudi Arabian participant Rakan Alyami of Alqadsiah came away with the bronze.
In the male adults’ white belt under-85kg category, Bahrain Fighters’ local talent Hassan Alansari captured gold ahead of RMAC’s Mohammed Alghubari from Saudi.
In the male adults’ white belt under-69kg division, Bahraini Ahmed Hisham struck gold, while fellow-RMAC fighter Ali Rauf of Pakistan was the silver-medallist. Saudi’s Mahdi Nasfan of Alqadsiah completed the podium.
Meanwhile, Bahrainis Alaa Salah and Noora Sherif, both of Gracie Bahrain, emerged triumphant in their respective female adults’ classes.
Salah was the gold-medallist in the blue and purple belts under-69kg category, where Bahraini Khadija Alqaidoom of RMAC took silver and American Mariah Griffin of NXG Combat won bronze. Sherif, on the other hand, won the gold medal in the white belt over-69kg division, with fellow-Gracie Bahrain fighter Jasmin Abdullayeva from Azerbaijan clinching silver.
Brazilian Samuel Ambrosio won gold in the male youth coloured belts under-69kg class to lead an all-RMAC podium. Zaki Babiker from France and Yousuf Mercer from Bahrain were the silver and bronze-medallists, respectively.
Zikai Zhou from China led another all-RMAC top three in the male youth white belt under-69kg division. He won gold while Bahraini Omar Khonji took silver and South African Johan Nieuwoudt claimed bronze.
Kuwaiti Omar Aljaboul of Gracie Barra was first in the male youth white belt over-69kg category. Compatriot Zaid Wisam of Alpha Grappling finished second while Bahraini Faisal Almadani of RMAC was third.
Bahrain Fighters’ Ebrahim Sharif from Egypt captured the male youth white belt under-62kg gold medal while Briton Makai Chanian from RMAC was the silver-medallist.
Following all the action, the winners were presented their respective prizes by officials from RMAC and Spartan Fitness Bahrain.
