Bahrain's senior men’s football national team entered last night their final few days of intensive preparations for their game against Japan on Thursday in the third round of Asian qualification for the Fifa World Cup 2026.
For the second straight night, Bahrain’s on-pitch training sessions in Tokyo were impacted by rain, but it did not stop head coach Dragan Talajic and his crew from getting some work in.
Talajic focused on tactical aspects during practice, starting with warm-up exercises and practical drills before moving on to shooting drills.
Their training took place along the external pitches of Saitama Stadium 2002, which will host their upcoming match later this week.
The game is scheduled for a 1.35pm kick-off, Bahrain time.
The Bahrainis are scheduled to continue to gear up for the contest today and tomorrow. On Wednesday, the official pre-game technical meeting and coaches’ Press conferences will be held, along with training at the match venue itself.
After their clash with Japan, Bahrain will next fly to Jakarta where they will take on Indonesia on March 25.
They then play their last two qualifiers against Saudi Arabia at home on June 5 and then against China away on June 10.
Talajic has 26 players on the national team’s roster for their games with Japan and Indonesia.
The line-up includes Sayed Mohammed Jaafar, Mohammed Jassim Marhoon, Komail Al Aswad, Mahdi Abduljabbar, Mahdi Humaidan, Ali Madan, Sayed Dhiya Saeed, Amine Benaddi, Waleed Al Hayyam, Ebrahim Luthfallah, Ismaeel Abdullatif, Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Ali Haram, Sayed Mahdi Baqer, Ahmed Bughammar, Abdulla Al Khalasi, Hazza Ali, Vincent Emmanuel, Jassim Al Shaikh, Hamad Shamsan, Hussain Abdulkarim, Ahmed Al Sherooqi, Ebrahim Al Khattal, Sayed Ahmed Alwadaie, Hussain Al Eker, and Abdulkarim Al Fardan.
