A rethink has been urged by the government on a proposed strategic stockpile law that includes tough penalties to ensure compliance with regulations governing the storage, supply and distribution of essential goods.
Under the 16-article law originally proposed by the Shura Council, the punishments aim to deter hoarding, price manipulation and violations of stockpile regulations .
