Cairo: Eight people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision between a train and a passenger vehicle in Ismailia governorate, east of Cairo.
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), Egypt's Ministry of Health stated that 13 ambulances were dispatched to transport the injured to hospital.
The Railway Authority indicated that the accident occurred due to the vehicle crossing from an unauthorised location, leading to casualties.
Kamel El Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, visited the site to follow up on the response measures.
