BODYBUILDING – THE Khalid bin Hamad Open Bodybuilding Championship was held with more than 120 competitors, from both inside and outside of Bahrain, taking part.
The event took place under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar and Bahrain Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation president Sami Al Haddad were in attendance. They were amongst the officials who crowned the winners of the various competition categories.
In the classic physique events, Fadhel Abbas triumphed in the 168cm height division while Shahrouk Ahmed was the victor in the 171cm category. Mohammed Bukhalaf took first place in the 175cm class, and Ahmed Habeel won the 180cm group.
In the master physique competition, Kuwaiti Fahad Nasser took first place in the over-40 category. Omani Asaad Al Wahaibi was the winner in the physique 170cm category, while Bahrain’s Abdulla Al Masnour was the winner in the physique 174cm class. Bahraini Hamad Salah won the 179cm division and countryman Jassim Burshaid took first place in the over-179cm category.
In the muscular physique contests, Bahrain’s Ali Ebrahim won in the 179cm division and Ahmed bin Khamis won the over-179cm category.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Ali Ebrahim Kowayed took the junior bodybuilding category and Egyptian Mohammed Saad won the masters bodybuilding division.
In the 70kg bodybuilding event, Bahrain’s Khaled Jassim won first place, while Omani Khaled Mohammed took the victory in the 80kg bodybuilding contest. Cameroonian Fabrice Simofotso rounded out the winners in the 90kg bodybuilding division.
