Victorious team riders – Othman Abduljalil Al Awadhi, Mohammed Khalid Al Ruwaie and Isa Hameed Al Anzi – took the top three positions in the National Day Endurance Race Championship, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir yesterday in conjunction with the kingdom’s National Day celebrations and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s Accession to the Throne.
Al Awadhi completed the race in a time of 4 hours, 34 minutes, and 35 seconds, followed by Al Ruwaie in 4:34:36, and Al Anzi in third place with a time of 4:34:37.
Khalifa Jamal from the Al Fursan team triumphed in the 120km international race, with teammate Saud Mubarak finishing in second place.
The event was held in the presence of His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and Breef honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, with prominent participation from top stables and riders.
The championship was also attended by Supreme Council for the Environment deputy chairman, Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club Higher Committee deputy chairman and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
The champions were presented with trophies by Breef president Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
Al Awadhi expressed his immense joy at achieving first place and the Victorious team’s successful title defence, stating that this victory is the result of the support, follow-up, and backing of team captain Shaikh Nasser.
The federation congratulated the winning riders, praising their outstanding performance throughout the different stages and wishing everyone further success and prosperity.
