If you’ve dreamed of living an Italian life, going to the beach every day and partaking in the amazing food, then the region of Calabria might be the place for you.
The best part is that they’ll actually pay you $30,000 to move to the region. Calabria, in Southern Italy, is looking for anyone under 40 to move to one of the nine participating villages under their ‘active residence income’ programme. The aim is to repopulate some of the dying villages on the Icoast.
Currently, all nine of the villages under the programme have less than 2,000 citizens.
Participants will have to move to the area within 90 days of being accepted and will also be required to either start a business that will benefit the local economy or fill one of the job openings.
The money will be paid over three years.
