BAHRAINI weightlifter Amal Ali Al Fardan won two silver medals in the 12th Fazza International Para Powerlifting Championship – World Cup – Dubai 2022, being hosted by the Dubai Club for People of Determination until tomorrow.
Al Fardan won the medals for the best lift and for total lift at the event where 243 athletes from 40 countries are participating. The championship is also a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
She dedicated her achievement to His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and to Bahrain Paralympic Committee president Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa.
