Riyadh: Saudi's Education Ministry has announced that only students who have received both shots of the Covid-19 will be allowed back in school once the academic year begins on August 29.
The rule, which applies to both high school and middle school students, exempts elementary and preschool students who will be exempt from returning until 70 percent herd immunity has been achieved through double dosage, Arab News reported.
So far, the country has administered over 27.2 million doses of the vaccine and 8.25 million people have received both shots, making up 23.7 percent of the country’s 34.8 million population.
