ACOUSTIC guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela are set to take to the stage in Bahrain this weekend as part of this year’s Spring of Culture festival.
The internationally-acclaimed Mexican duo will showcase their frenetic energy and rhythmic intensity tomorrow night at Arad Fort.
After learning more guitar styles the duo released a couple of albums including Re-Foc in 2003 and Rodrigo y Gabriela in 2006.
In January 2011, they co-operated with film composer Hans Zimmer, on a song for the film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Blending rock, metal, and world music with their own Mexican vibes, these two outstanding guitarists deliver a highly energetic performance, combining their own hits Tamacun and Hanuman with wonderful covers of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven, Metallica’s Orion or Radiohead’s Creep.
The performance will begin at 8.30pm.
