The 2018 Forbes Billionaires list has come out, and for the first time this list does not include any Saudis. Forbes chose to leave off all 10 Saudis given reports of asset seizures after some 200 people, including some billionaires, were detained.
This year 31 individuals from Arab countries have made the list. The total wealth of the world’s richest Arabs stands at $76.7 billion.
Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris with a net worth of $6.6 billion is the world’s richest Arab.
The UAE with seven entries, has the highest number of billionaires from any country, followed by Egypt with six.
The Forbes World’s Billionaires list is a snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from February 9, 2018. Some people will become richer or poorer within weeks - even days - of publication.
