Three new stunning caves have been discovered in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Ministry of Tourism issued a statement announcing the discoveries, adding that a group of residents found the new caves.
Pictures of the new caves were posted on the Times of Oman website.
Oman’s historic caves have been featured in well-known international journals. Caves in Oman are of varying types and lengths, sizes and geographic formations, and they attract large number of speleologists annually.
Dhofar Governorate contains a large number of caves, some of which have springs near them. The most famous caves are Jernan, Al Kittan, Al Hoota, Abu Habban, Majlis Al Jinn, Muqal, Al Marnif and Teeq as well as the Tawi Ateer Sinkhole.
