Bahrain has won its first-ever 15-a-side national rugby test match, after a dominating 66-13 showdown against Jordan this evening.
The historic match between the two teams took place at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club, and was the first time the national team fielded a 15-a-side squad, under World Rugby guidelines.
The Bahrain squad dominated throughout the match, with a half-time score of 33-3.
Tonight's victory follows three years of groundwork by the Bahrain Rugby Federation (BRF) to assemble and prepare a squad eligible to represent the kingdom.
The team was initially formed in 2021 and until tonight had only competed in seven-a-side rugby tournaments.
The team was led by captain Adam Wallace and vice-captain Alastair Crombie.
