A video has gone viral featuring a cat dubbed “Narcomichi,” who was caught on camera smuggling drugs into Pococí Penitentiary prison in Costa Rica.
The clip was originally shared by the Justice and Peace Ministry on a Facebook post to report the incident.
However, the adorably witty video quickly took social media by storm, with netizens calling the sneaky feline “Narcomichi.” The name stems from “narco,” referring to the drugs, and “michi,” a slang word for cat in Spanish.
Prison guards first noticed something peculiar lurking in a tree near the facility. After taking a closer look, they discovered a black-and-white cat that had been armored with two sealed packages strapped around its body.
The packages contained more than 235 grams of marijuana, 68 grams of crack paste, along with rolling papers.
The bizarre incident prompted an investigation, as the items were taken into custody, and the feline felon was handed over to Costa Rica’s National Animal Health Service for assessment.
