BASKETBALL – Manama and Muharraq lock horns tonight in a titanic clash to determine the Premier League top seeds at the end of the preliminary round of the 2024-25 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
The game is scheduled for an 8pm tip-off and it will be played at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.
Three-time defending league champions Manama and their top title rivals Muharraq are currently tied on the Premier League standings with identical 12-2 win-loss records.
Tonight’s victor will be the undisputed leader of the round heading into the Golden Square semi-final stage.
In other games today, third-ranked Al Ahli will take on fourth-ranked Al Najma at 6pm at the same venue. Meanwhile, at the Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam, fifth-placed Al Hala face sixth-ranked Al Ettihad, also at 6pm.
In League B, Nuwaidrat have already been crowned champions after finishing first overall on their standings.
Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) vice-president Nader Al Awadhi and BBA competitions committee chairman Hassan Yaseen presented Nuwaidrat’s players and team officials with their trophy and medals. With their title triumph, Nuwaidrat won promotion to the Premier League for next season in the BBA’s two-tier system for the Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
